Initially I had no plans of visiting Little India but a friend of mine recommended me to book tickets from https://www.redbus.sg/ and that is where Little India was mentioned as a Bus Boarding point. Little India is truly a next level shopping experience and will surely leave a lasting impression on yourmemory. Make sure to visit Little India before you depart on your journey to Malaysia.
There are only 3 Operators plying on the route between Little India and Chemor. Lapan Lapan Travel, Starmart Express and the One Travel and Tours are the famous Operators plying on this route. Lapan Lapan has about 4 buses plying through out the day and the first bus leaves around 9:30 am in the morning. The last bus leaves Singapore at 10:00 pm in the night. I booked the 10:00 pm slot as I love travelling during the night when there is no traffic on the roads. The cost of the tickets were starting from SGD40 and went up all the way to SGD50. The duration of the journey was about 9 hours but if you manage to convince yourself to travel in the dead of the night you will cover this duration in about 7 hours. Starmart Express is another luxury Operator plying on this route. This Operator only has 2 buses both leaving only at night. The first bus departs at 11:00 pm and the other at 11:30 pm. The cost of the tickets start from SGD50 and the Operator justifies this cost by providing modern and futurustic amenities across all its buses.
Chemor is a town in Kinta district of Malaysia. Currently Bus is the only mode of transport to travel here as the Chemor railway station was demolished in the year 2012. The place serves as a major Bus drop off point for Bus Operators. There are quite a few places where you can accommodate yourself here in Chemor. Home stay at Sky Garden Residency is one of them. It is a holiday home with a terrace with magnificient views of the place. Each of the guest rooms have a balcony and an outdoor pool. The rooms are equipped with all modern facilities like a flat screen TV, a mini bar as well as a tea and coffee vending machine. There is a 24 hour gymming facility here that is just perfect for the fitness enthusiasts. The check-in time of this hotel is from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the check-out time is from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm.
Another accommodation where you can stay at is the Chemor-Inn Hotel. After reaching Malaysia this was the place I was staying. I had a pleasant experience with the staff of this hotel who were quite interactive. The hotel has free wifi in the entire property and offers basic accommodation to its guests. It is located just 15 minutes away from the Aeon Shopping Mall and the well known Perak Cave. The hotel is completely furnished with air conditioned rooms that have tiled floorings. The hotel has a 24 hour front desk where guests can request for dry cleaning services as well as baby sitting. The hotel is approximately 20 minutes away from Ipoh Town as well as the lost world Water Theme Park. There is a famous restaurant that is located just next to this property.
